Gardens Grow Food
It is a simple statement. Gardens Grow Food. However, for apartment dwellers like myself, finding garden space is a problem. Without yardspace, so many people give up, and stop gardenening altogether, but many gardeners find creative ways around these limitations and learn container gardening. This is one way to satisfy that need to grow vegetables. This naturally expands to create balcony gardens. But these methods just aren’t the same as growing food in the ground. This blog is for everyone who hungers for a place to grow their own food in the ground. I’m sharing my experience, how I recognized a space for a garden, and got permission to build a vegetable garden that was too big for my own needs. So I called it a community garden.
Gardening is as much about our health as it is about saving a buck. With garden space, a bit of time and effort, you can improve your health and loosen the giant food chain’s grip on your wallet.
FINDING PLACES TO GROW
I’m an avid gardener. Every season, I have a compulsion to plan and plant my vegetable garden. But we moved, and in downsizing, I lost access to my large garden. At the moment, the limited space in my rooftop garden bed is sufficient. I’ve applied for a plot in a local community garden, but these plots are perpetually in short supply with long waiting lists.
I hope that my blog helps you consider how to find an unused space and create your own garden area. There is something magical in growing your own food.
Coming Soon
So, an idea developed while I looked around for another area to develop a larger garden space for myself. I am developing an app that connects gardeners seeking vegetable garden space with those who have space to garden. I’ll keep you up to date on this project.
